| #508 | fixed | Unable to upgrade guest additions in XP env. | ||
| Description |
After upgrading VB from rel 1.3.8 to 1.4.0 in my WinXP host, my WinXP guest WAS working well despite not having reinstalled guest additions (in other words, I was using VB rel 1.4.0 with rel 1.3.8 GA in the guest system). Some days later, in order to complete the upgrade, I re-installed Guest Additions in the guest system, the same way I did when upgrading from rel 1.3.6 to rel 1.3.8, but this was NOT successful, as I got error messages about driver installation ("file not found" and similar ones). I tried completely removing GA and installing again. I also tried installing the old GA by mounting the 1.3.8 GA iso file, but nothing better. The installation process normally starts and proceeds, but in the final steps it produces error messages and I end up with VBox devices detected but not properly installed and consequently not working. Moreover, every time I start the VM the guest WinXP detects VB devices and prompts for driver location: I point to the mounted 1.4.0 CD image, it finds the INF files and then says "error..." again. In the end, I have my XP guest without any mouse integration and enhanced video driver anymore. How can I sort this out without deleting the VM and re-creating it from scratch? |

| #510 | fixed | Error while using VB | ||
| Description |
Hi VB's team. First thank you for this program, hope you'll continue developing it :) I started using virtual machins with VMware, but it isn't free and it doesn't have the option to set the resolution automaticly like VB does. I like so much your program, but I have a serious problem. Every time I turn on a virtual machine with VB, after (x) time, it's turned off with the message on the principal window of VB: -Name of virtual machine- (Abortada) This anoyes me, because in Windows I make some important thinks (Scripting for mIRC, for example, and I lose what I did). I've read in the forums that some users have the same problem, but there are not any solution.. If you know how to fix it, i'll thank you if you send me an eMail, DiSh@iespana.es Thanks for everything, and sorry for my poor English, I'm from Spain :) |
