#11913 fixed AMD E-350 i686 error xd90europe
Description

My PC config: MB: GA-E350N WIN 8 (rev.1.0) CPU: AMD E-350D RAM: 8GB DDR3 1333 SSD: 120GB OS: Windows 7 Ultimate x64 SP1

When I try to start any VM to boot, I got this error: This kernel requires an x86-64 CPU, but only detected an i686 CPU. Unable to boot – please use a kernel appropriate for your CPU.

[!] SVM Mode is enabled from BIOS! I searched for any other virtualization settings in BIOS but I didn't found.

I tried also to install ESXi and PROXMOX on my PC and I received some errors that says I haven't virtualization enabled in BIOS. It's weird! I checked CPU capabilities by typing egrep '(vmx|svm)' --color=always /proc/cpuinfo and I have SVM feature displayed. Please help me with this annoying problem. I bought this PC because I saw that this low consumption CPU supports virtualization. Thank You in advance!

BR, Danny.

#3411 fixed AMD PCnet Ethernet Driver is missing Clemens Fuchslocher
Description

The UserManual.pdf of 2.1.4 states:

Windows Vista no longer ships a driver for the AMD PCnet Ethernet card that VirtualBox provides to the guest by default [...]. As a convenience, VirtualBox ships with a 32-bit driver for the AMD PCnet card, which comes with the Windows Guest Additions. [...] Then, start the Windows Hardware Wizard and direct it to the Guest Additions CD where a driver for the PCnet card can be found in the directory 32bit\Windows\3rdParty\AMD_PCnet.

But the directory 32bit\Windows\3rdParty\AMD_PCnet doesn't exist anymore in the iso image of the guest additions.

It was still there in 2.1.0 but disappeared in 2.1.2:

Installing the driver manually from http://www.amd.com/us-en/assets/content_type/utilities/V4.51.zip works fine for me.

#1731 fixed AMD Phenom error with VT enabled -> fixed in SVN Ing. Rainer Pietsch
Description

OS: Ubuntu 8.04 / x86_64 CPU: AMD Phenom 9550 Memory: 4GB

There are Problems with multiple VM's running when they have VTx-AMD-V enabled. May be there is a problem with the interupts. If I use Windows clients I get "irq_not_less_or_equal", if I run Linux clients there is often a "hang" at the time the hardware-checks are performed. After a powerdown and up often it works (with Linux clients). With Windows-clients there is no possibility to run 2 or more VM's.

Once again: This ONLY happens if VTx-AMD-V is enabled.
