| #5140 | obsolete | Solaris guests unusably slow on 32-bit WinXP host | ||
| Description |
HOST: WinXPsp3 32-bit with VT (dual quad-core Intel Xeon E5345 processors) 4 GB RAM NVIDIA Quadro FX 3500 video card with 256 MB VRAM GUEST: Solaris 10 u7 1500 MB RAM assigned 128 MB VRAM 3.0.8 guest additions installed IOAPIC, ACPI, PAE, VT-x enabled 32- and 64-bit Solaris guests are too slow to use. Windowing system of guest and host are unusable while guest is running. Problem may lie with Xorg implementation in guest additions? Major regression from 3.0.4. 64-bit guest will boot, but login takes >2 minutes and guest is unusable. Could not login to 32-bit guest using 1 processor; just hung. Could log in to 32-bit guest with 4 processors, but guest was unusable. Using JDS for guest. Could not start Firefox in any Solaris guest. |

| #5146 | obsolete | Aborted if USB device attached during shutdown or saving state | ||
| Description |
When attempting to shut down the virtual machine (from inside the guest or by clicking "Send the Shutdown signal"), or when performing "Save the machine state", the machine status becomes Aborted. I will attach logs, one of the Aborted result during "Send shutdown signal" and one from "Save machine state". Similar symptoms were listed in #5042 and #4020, however these appear to be fixed since VirtualBox 3.0.8 (fixed as in now the machine saves state properly if no USB device is connected, where as in those tickets the problem occurred regardless of whether a USB device was present or ever attached). Many thanks again to anyone that worked on the fix so this at least it now saves state without USB devices attached. I have only confirmed this bug with MacOS 10.5.8 host and Windows XP SP3 guest, but forum posts suggest it may occur in other situations, hopefully someone else will post a log also. |
