| #5038 | obsolete | Broken install cannot uninstall or reinstall | ||
| Description |
When I tried to uninstall a 2.0 version of virtualbox it failed. So I used Revo Uninstaller to force it out. At least the network device remained, so the install was definitely botched. Later I try to install the new virtualbox. At the end it fails "because of an error", and when you click Finish a red X box pops up "Installation of MSI failed! ERROR: 1603" I think this problem wouldn't exist if you were more independent of windows. Just let people download the program and run it. If the networking breaks then you can deal with it. But the whole installer shouldn't break.. Major because it blocks me from using Virtualbox altogether. Minor because it won't affect many people. |

| #5041 | obsolete | Ubuntu 9.04 guest extremely slow kernel compiling | ||
| Description |
Host is Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit Ubuntu 9.04 server edition 32 bit installed without any problem, but when I try to compile: root@router:~# cd /usr/src/linux root@router:/usr/src/linux# make-kpkg clean exec make -f /usr/share/kernel-package/ruleset/minimal.mk clean Last command hangs, I was waiting for about 30 minutes. On real machines this operation takes less than a minute. While watching top I can see <defunc> processes gcc, make etc. I can't figure out what is the problem. |

| #5045 | obsolete | Static Window Size | ||
| Description |
Right now, when the VM is booting up, the Host window constantly resizes through the VM BIOS screen, OS boot splash and then finally loading the OS GUI. I wish there was an option to force the Host window to maintain the same dimensions regardless of what the guest OS was doing. Additionally, it would be nice to be able to specify a background color for the window when it was bigger than what the Guest OS needed. Usually, the guest OS has a black screen when of some sorts when it is in a phase where it can't be resized and so it the gray looks odd to me. Attached is a simple mock up. |
