| #14942 | fixed | General Failure "Do not use this!!!" on latest 5.0.10 r104061 for Debian 8 | ||
| Description |
Just upgraded from 4.3 to 5.0.10 on my Debian Jessie Box. Went to launch a VM and got this: General failure - DON'T USE THIS!!!. (VERR_GENERAL_FAILURE).
Result Code: NS_ERROR_FAILURE (0x80004005) Uninstalled VB (and all traces of it including ~/.config/VirtualBox) and even chucked existing VMs on the hard drive. Re-installed fresh (including a new download w/verified SHA256 sums), copied VM from backup, and still getting the error!! Looking at VBox.log, at the end there seems to be a reference to a path that does not exist on my system. Perhaps this is the problem? --C64 |

| #7726 | wontfix | CPU speed | ||
| Description |
I was thinking when running a win 3.1 system my current processor is to fast. Is there a way that you can add a feature where you can slow your processor down to 40 mhz in the virtual? Also I have not tried it yet but maybe a usb game adapter setting so that the guest OS sees it as an older style serial adapter. |

| #1865 | obsolete | Performance of NTVDM unacceptable | ||
| Description |
Linux host/WinXP sp3 guest When running an old 16 bit visual basic application under ntvdm performance is unacceptable. The processor use never drops below ~30%. When using the application performance is dreadful. Screen paints can be watched and any operation involving IO is stunningly slow. Machine is a conversion of a vmdk, IO APIC still in use (though configured as such). |
