#15016 invalid Internet Connection issue with Windows 7 Pro Guest BarryIH
Description

Hello,

I have recently installed Windows 7 Pro 64bit guest onto Vbox v 5.0.10 and is fully activated. The host is Windows 10 Pro 64bit.

The network settings for this instance is: Attached as: Bridged adapter Name: Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller Adapter Type: Intel PRO/1000 MT Desktop (82540EM) Promiscuous Mode: Deny

Cable connected: Checked

No guest additions installed at this stage. This is intentional.

I am having a problem where by when the instance is started it connects to our internal network and is allocated a valid IP address but the connection to the internet is intermittent. Most times without intervention it will not connect to the internet at all.

When selecting the "Network and Sharing center" under windows 7 and click to troubleshoot the internet connection this may or may not make the system connect to the internet.

Can someone advise on how to get windows 7 pro 64bit guest OS to connect reliably within this version of Virtual Box?

#13258 obsolete Some full-screen visuals result in blank screens with Windows 8.1 guest BarthaxDravtore
Description

Hi,

Using an Ubuntu host (replicated on 12.04, 13.04, 13.10 and 14.04) with a Windows 8.1 guest there are some full-screen visuals which result in blank/black screen output of the guest system. If the mouse inside the guest is moved to any of the four corners, the screen is shown correctly behind the Windows 8.1 interface. Moving the mouse away from the corners or their features results in a blank/black screen once more. Guest additions are installed and up to date (4.3.14r95030 now - has occurred in all 4.3.xx versions). The guest additions are updated using Windows 8.1 Safe Mode.

I have tried turning off the 3D acceleration with no alteration to the symptoms. I had recorded a session of this occurring using the Video capture but I've discovered my installation also suffers from ticket 13073 (green-screen capture).

This is easily replicated with some (not all) games. The Angry Birds suite of games are all affected, for example. During loading, the splash screen is shown but once the title screen appears the symptoms begin.
