| #493 | fixed | Disabled AMD SVM crashes host -> fixed in 1.4.2/SVN | ||
| Description |
When starting a virtualmachine, even a new one (just created) I get a bluescreen. System is Windows XP Prof (32bit) on AMD 64 X2 Dual, Core Processor 4600+, 1,87 GB RAM ATI Radeon 1150 on Board Bluescreen show only: BugCheck 1000008E, {c0000005, 88b6303b, af35acd4, 0} WinDbg gives following information: 0: kd> !analyze -v *
* KERNEL_MODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED_M (1000008e) This is a very common bugcheck. Usually the exception address pinpoints the driver/function that caused the problem. Always note this address as well as the link date of the driver/image that contains this address. Some common problems are exception code 0x80000003. This means a hard coded breakpoint or assertion was hit, but this system was booted /NODEBUG. This is not supposed to happen as developers should never have hardcoded breakpoints in retail code, but ... If this happens, make sure a debugger gets connected, and the system is booted /DEBUG. This will let us see why this breakpoint is happening. | #496 | fixed | mouse goes crazy with guest additions and pclinuxos | ||
| Description |
I installed PClinuxOS and everything seemed to be working fine. I install the Virtualbox Guest Additions as in the manual. Now, no matter what I click, it brings up PClinux's calendar. I can't even make the "PC" menu work. At this point, if I disable mouse integration, it has additional symptoms. The mouse pointer apparently isn't where it looks like it is most of the time, and you end up having to watch when menu items light up before you know when to click, even though your pointer is far from them. Also, the pointer goes clear off the edges of the screen and shows up on the opposite side. I tried deleting the virtual machine and starting over, and I get the same results. I think this is important because without the Guest Additions, this whole thing loses much of its convenience factor, and PCLinuxOS is lately looking as popular as Ubuntu. PCLinuxos uses less memory than Ubuntu while having a lot of the essential plugins and multimedia components just working right out of the box. I really was hoping to get all my internet activities shifted over to an always running virtual machine, but I'm thwarted again by something not working. |
