#3369 obsolete Problems with flashing HTC Touch Diamond watchme
Description

Situation:

Virtualbox: 2.1.4
Host: Linux 2.6.28-5.slh.3-sidux-amd64 (USB is managed by udev)
Guest: Windows XP Professional Service Pack 3
My cell phone: HTC Touch Diamond ROM 1.93

Office 2007 installed, ActiveSync 4.5 works fine. Syncs everything with Outlook without Problems.
The phone is found as 'HTC Generic Serial'.

watchme@Sidux64:~$ VBoxManage list usbhost

Pre:

Downloaded the actual ROM for my cell, and was told to connect it via USB and ActiveSync.
After starting the installer the phone is rebooted into flash-mode.
The Virtualbox looses the connection to the phone.

Problem:

After a few seconds another USB device appeares instead of the 'HTC Generic Serial'.
it is named 'HTC Qualcomm CDMA Technologies MSM'.
If you now want to bind it to virtualbox you get

ERROR:

I did build a filter, too, the Error stays the same.

#3370 obsolete VBoxNetFlt: Conflict with the Trend Micro Anti-Virus driver William Meier
Description

After installing 2.1.4 + the USB driver + the network driver on my Vista

(with up-to-date patches) on my Sony VAIO laptop I get a BSOD every so often (1-2 hours) even without creating/running a VM.

(The same problem also occurred with 2.1.2).

After uninstalling and then re-installing 2.1.4 w/o the network driver there were no further crashes.

I've attached a minidump. I'm not familiar with interpreting Winows crash-dumps but I did try dumpchk.

The dumpchk output says (among other things) "Probably caused by : tmwfp.sys ( tmwfp+22d1d )"

tmwfp.sys is a driver for my Trend-Micro Anti-Virus so that's why I began to suspect some interaction between the VirtualBox network driver and other network drivers.

(I also have WinPcap installed on my machine).

The crash repeated quite consistently (4x in 3 hours) so if if there's any magic which might be done before/after a crash to get more/useful information, please let me know.

Having now read the manual in more detail, I see that I do not need the network driver for my setup, so this is not a show-stopper for me.

#3378 obsolete VirtualBox (Mac OS X) dies with OpenSolaris guest during early boot with kernel debugger interaction Mark Johnson
Description

This is on a 32-bit only Macbook Pro. For guest; ACPI is on, everything else is off. Turning on VT-x does not make the problem go away. It works fine on metal.

Using a stock OpenSolaris 2008.11 guest, enter the kernel debugger. To do this:

o when the grub line comes up, hit 'e'
o go to the splashimage line and hit 'd' to delete it
o go to the foreground line and hit 'd' to delete it
o go to the backgound line and hit 'd' to delete it
o go to the kernel$ line and hit 'e' to EDIT it
      o hit backspace/delete to remove ",console=graphics"
o use the arrow keys to move the cursor before the -B $ZFS-BOOTFS, and add -kd
o the line should now look like
               kernel$ /platform/i86pc/kernel/$ISADIR/unix -kd -B $ZFS-BOOTFS
o hit return to enter changes and go back
      o hit 'b' to boot

Wait for the kmdb prompt [0]>

o at the kmdb prompt, set the var and continue.. vbox guest will die here
and be left in a "aborted" state.
NOTE: Make sure initial k is lower case.. virtual box always seems to
capitalize it (a bug?) and I have to delete and type it again.

      o kobj_file_bufsize?W 0x100000
      o :c

From the guest log...
