| #6715 | fixed | 3.2.0 fails to compile with gcc 4.5 | ||
| Description |
VirtualBox 3.2.0 fails to build with gcc 4.5 -- first, the configure check barfs because it isn't aware of gcc 4.5 existing. After adapting it, the build fails because -Werror is used, and gcc 4.5 produces some new warnings: cc1plus: warnings being treated as errors In file included from /usr/src/ark/BUILD/VirtualBox-3.2.0_OSE/src/VBox/VMM/VMMAl l/PGMAll.cpp:236:0: /usr/src/ark/BUILD/VirtualBox-3.2.0_OSE/src/VBox/VMM/VMMAll/PGMAllGst.h: In func tion âint pgmR3GstAMD64GetPage(VMCPU*, RTGCPTR, uint64_t*, RTGCPHYS*)â: /usr/src/ark/BUILD/VirtualBox-3.2.0_OSE/src/VBox/VMM/VMMAll/PGMAllGst.h:81:17: error: âPdpe.X86PDPE::lm.X86PDPEAMD64BITS::u1Writeâ may be used uninitialized in this function [-Wuninitialized] /usr/src/ark/BUILD/VirtualBox-3.2.0_OSE/src/VBox/VMM/VMMAll/PGMAllGst.h:81:17: error: âPdpe.X86PDPE::lm.X86PDPEAMD64BITS::u1Userâ may be used uninitialized in this function [-Wuninitialized] /usr/src/ark/BUILD/VirtualBox-3.2.0_OSE/src/VBox/VMM/VMMAll/PGMAllGst.h:81:17: error: âPdpe.X86PDPE::lm.X86PDPEAMD64BITS::u1Accessedâ may be used uninitialized in this function [-Wuninitialized] /usr/src/ark/BUILD/VirtualBox-3.2.0_OSE/src/VBox/VMM/VMMAll/PGMAllGst.h:81:17: error: âPdpe.X86PDPE::lm.X86PDPEAMD64BITS::u1NoExecuteâ may be used uninitialized in this function [-Wuninitialized] /usr/src/ark/BUILD/VirtualBox-3.2.0_OSE/src/VBox/VMM/VMMAll/PGMAllGst.h:81:17: error: âPdpe.X86PDPE::n.X86PDPEBITS::u1Presentâ may be used uninitialized in this function [-Wuninitialized] |

| #7698 | obsolete | 3.2.10 - Host Connectivity Issues On Windows 7 & XP Pro SP3 | ||
| Description |
System Specs: (Two Systems) XP Pro SP3 - (All Windows Updates, AMD 3500+, 1GB Ram, LAN Nvidia nForce, Browser Firefox 3.6.12 Win7 Home Premium x64, AMD TF-20, 4GB Ram, LAN Atheros AR8132, WiFi - Atheros AR5B95, Browser Firefox 3.6.12 After installing 3.2.10 on these two different boxes I noticed that on the Win7 box my WiFi, which is set to automatically connect, now connecting to my local WiFi is a lot slower. In fact it is a very big difference. Normally it takes 10 seconds and with VirtualBox installed it's been taking around 30-40 seconds. Next on both boxes, this in regards to Firefox, just running on my Host system without anything to do with VirtualBox running, just using Windows normally, a lot of the sites I'll go to, I'll get Firefox giving me the window saying the server could not be found, so then I'll reload the page and then Firefox will load the site. This constantly happens on about 50% of the sites I go to on the web, I constantly have to reload to get the site to load. Also Firefox will be slower at loading pages with VirtualBox installed. On the XP box I do not have WiFi so I don't see any connection problems when restarting the system, this only appears on my box with the WiFi. Also this Firefox issue happening on both boxes as soon as I put back a clean image I made with Image For Windows and then installed Firefox 3.6.12 I never noticed any connectivity problems again. All I can tell you is that I'm an IT Tech, I make my living in the computer industry and seeing this connectivity problem with Firefox happening on two different boxes, along with the WiFi on another, I know there is some sort of network driver problem with VirtualBox affecting the stack. I would imagine it's the 'VirtualBox Bridged Networking Driver' affecting the stack. This is such a big problem that I do not have VirtualBox installed, it really makes online connectivity a problem and I hope someone can figure this out and fix it soon. THANKS |

| #7706 | obsolete | 3.2.10 Win XP guest boot error with bridged network on Win Vista host | ||
| Description |
There has been no effective reply to my post "3.2.10 bridged network problems on Win Vista host". I have uninstalled and reinstalled 3.2.10 on Vista machine and get same network error for Bridged network. Guest (Win XP SP3) will boot with either NAT or Internal network but not bridged. I need to be able to transfer files between host & guest so need bridged. Log files attached. |
